The Winemaker of the Year in Hungary award is perhaps the most prestigious recognition in the domestic wine world, awarded annually by the Hungarian Wine Academy. The aim of the award is to honor winemakers who set an example through their outstanding professional work, the quality of their wines, and their long-term contribution to Hungarian wine culture. It is not just the results of a single successful year that matter, as the nominees have serious careers, consistent work, and professional recognition behind them. The winners of the award are selected based on the recommendations of experts, wine writers, sommeliers, and previous award winners. The prestige of the award enhances the reputation of the winemaker and their winery not only at home but also internationally, making it a worthy moment in the fulfillment of a lifetime's work. The award winners are among the most influential figures in Hungarian wine culture.

You can meet some of them in person, but you can definitely encounter their wines at the Wine Festival. These stands are definitely worth visiting.

Hungarian Wine Academy – Wine Producers of the Year Stand (Stand 109)
A new feature of the Wine Festival is the Hungarian Wine Academy’s own stand, where each day two former Winemakers of the Year, who do not have their own stand this year but still wish to meet wine lovers, will be on hand to welcome visitors.
