Please note that the daily ticket is for a specific day and only entitles you to enter the day on the ticket. It is not possible to rebook for another day. 

This is not possible after the purchase, but tickets can be freely transferred to anyone. If the event is canceled for any reason, we will notify you by email about the options for pre-paid tickets.

The crystal tasting glass cannot be redeemed.

In addition to the information on the ticketing site, please note that tickets come with one tasting glass. If the glass is lost or damaged, a new one can be purchased at the Central Information stand. The ticket also includes a free tasting at the VinAgora selection booth and a glass-holder bag as well. Additional drinks and food must be paid for at the exhibitors, however, you can enjoy all concerts, professional and other programs for free!

In case of online ticket purchase through our own system, no handling fee will be charged.

You can buy a new glass in the central information booth.

No, anyone presenting the tickets can enter, so they are freely transferable. The first person to scan the QR code on the tickets at the ticket office will enter the event, so please make sure that the code does not accidentally fall into the hands of others. We cannot admit anyone to the festival with an already invalidated QR code!

In theory, yes, we sell a fixed number of tickets for each day. This year, however, the festival will again be held in a large area, so the chances are small in practice. In case of very high demand, it might happen on Friday or Saturday, the two most visited days. We suggest to either buy tickets in advance for these days or arrive at the venue on time.

Cashier's offices close one hour before the end of the event every day, so you can buy a ticket on the spot, or redeem your pre-purchased ticket until then. Of course, with a valid wristband, you can enter the festival during the entire opening hours unlimited times.

The event can be accessed from Szent György Street through the Koldus Gate or the Baroque Gate; from Palota Road using the Csikós Courtyard lift; and from Várkert Bazár via the Vízhordó Stairs or the internal stairs and lifts of Várkert Bazár. When leaving, please note that the lifts at Csikós Courtyard operate only until 1:00 a.m.

Children under the age of 14 can attend the festival for free.

No tourist access is allowed to the Palace between 9 and 12 September, only for organisers, exhibitors and visitors to the festival. During the opening hours of the festival, access to the area is only possible with a ticket for the event.

Between 9 and 12 September, visitors of the National Széchényi Library who do not have a Wine Festival ticket can enter the main entrance of the library from the Palace Road via the Oroszlános courtyard from 12 noon, in groups every 15 minutes, accompanied by a hostess or security guard. From there, they can leave the event area every 15 minutes with escort.

Museum visitors can purchase tickets on Palota Road (next to the lift entrance) or at Szent György Square (next to the Buda Castle Funicular). Along with their ticket, visitors will receive a wristband allowing them to pass through the Budapest Wine Festival grounds.

Visitors arriving from Várkert Bazár can enter the museum through the entrance from the Király Courtyard without passing through the festival grounds.

Once the museums have closed, visitors may no longer remain on the festival grounds using this wristband. Anyone wishing to stay at the Budapest Wine Festival must purchase a festival ticket at one of the ticket offices or online in advance.

By entering the festival grounds, visitors to the Budapest Wine Festival acknowledge and agree to comply with the House Rules.

From 9 to 12 September 2026, the 35st Budapest Wine Festival is taking place in some areas of the Buda Castle (Fishing Children's Terrace, Savoy Terrace, Hunyadi Courtyard, Lion's Court, Csikós Courtyard). Those areas are only accessible with a valid wristband of the Wine Festival. It is possible to visit the Hungarian National Gallery during the festival. Outside the event area, there is a visiting point available for museum visitors: on Szent György tér (next to the Buda Castle Funicular). Visitors who purchase tickets to the museums will receive a wristband with their ticket, entitling them to pass through the Wine Festival area. After the museums are closed, it is no longer possible to stay in the festival area with this wristband.

You can buy tickets for the Budapest Wine Festival at the event's box offices. Visitors in wheelchairs can approach the building from the Tabán lifts. More detailed information will be provided at the venue. We look forward to seeing you!

Due to ongoing renovation works and closures at Buda Castle, we recommend arriving by taxi via Palota Road and departing from the same area.

The official taxi partner of the event is Főtaxi, so we recommend choosing Főtaxi for both arrival and departure.

From the taxi rank by the Palota Road lift, you can take the lift directly up to Csikós Courtyard.

Please arrive either at the entrance of the festival at the Baroque gate or at the Visitors' Point of the Budapest History Museum at the entrance to the Palota Road, no earlier than half an hour before the time indicated on the ticket for the Szent István hall. You can approach the St Stephen’s Hall through the festival area with the ticket you receive here. It is also possible to buy a ticket to the St Stephen’s Hall at the Visitors' Points. The ticket entitles you only to pass through, not to stay at the festival! After visiting the hall, those without a valid wristband will be escorted out of the festival area by a security guard. After buying an entry ticket to the festival, you are free to stay, of course!

Unfortunately, we are not able to accept SZÉP cards neither for online nor on-site purchases. Thank you for your understanding!

There will be an ambulance car on the spot, throughout the whole duration of the festival.

You can bring your dog at your own risk, on a leash and if possible with a muzzle (due to the crowd) but we do not recommend it because of the possible splinters of broken glasses on the ground. 

Exhibitors of the Budapest Wine Festival can only serve drinks in the festival's official, branded tasting glass. The glass is part of the ticket, which you will receive upon entry.

• If you notice it on the spot, visit the Central Information stand first.
• If it hasn't been placed there yet, or you only discover its disappearance after the event, send us an email to info@borkulturakft.com, and if it is found, we will notify you immediately.

After the event, we will keep the found objects until October 14.

Please drop it off at the Central Information stand, you will surely make the owner very happy!

The 35th Budapest Wine Festival will take place from 9 to 12 September 2026 on the terraces and in the courtyards of Buda Castle.

Due to the preparation, operation and dismantling of the event, temporary restrictions should be expected in certain areas of the Buda Castle Palace District between 5 and 14 September. The affected areas are Csikós Courtyard, Hunyadi Courtyard, Oroszlános Courtyard, the Halászó Gyerekek Terrace and Savoyai Terrace.We kindly ask travel agencies, tour guides and organisers of tourist groups to take the following information into account when planning their tours. During the periods of restriction, we recommend visiting the areas of the Castle District not affected by the event, primarily the northern part of the district.

5–8 September – Festival set-up

The affected areas will generally remain open to visitors; however, temporary local closures may occur due to construction and set-up works.Please exercise extra caution when moving around the area. Preparatory works, stands under construction and other event infrastructure may also affect the usual appearance of Buda Castle during this period.

9–12 September – Budapest Wine Festival event days

Access to the areas used by the event will only be permitted with a valid Budapest Wine Festival wristband. Entry will be checked by the event’s security staff.
The Hungarian National Gallery and the Budapest History Museum will remain open to visitors during the Budapest Wine Festival.
Two visitor information points will be available for museum visitors outside the festival area:

• on Palota Road, next to the entrance to the lift;
• on Szent György Square, at the Baroque Gate.

Visitors purchasing admission tickets to the museums will receive an institutional wristband together with their ticket. This wristband only entitles the wearer to pass through the Budapest Wine Festival area for the purpose of reaching the museum.
After the museums close, visitors may not remain within the festival area with this wristband. Those who wish to stay at the Budapest Wine Festival afterwards must purchase a festival admission ticket either online in advance or at one of the on-site ticket offices.

13 September – Dismantling and exhibitor move-out

On the first day of dismantling, significant goods vehicle and other vehicle traffic is expected. For safety reasons, the areas used by the Budapest Wine Festival will therefore be closed to tourist traffic.
The Hungarian National Gallery and the Budapest History Museum will remain open on this day. Museum visitors will receive an institutional wristband from the Budapest Wine Festival security staff at the entrances, allowing them to reach the museums via the designated routes.
Due to the ongoing dismantling works, visitors are kindly asked to exercise extra caution and follow the instructions of the security staff.

14 September – Festival dismantling

The affected areas will once again be open to visitors; however, dismantling works will still be in progress and temporary restrictions may occur.
Please exercise extra caution when moving around the area. The dismantling works may also affect the usual appearance of Buda Castle during this period.
