Drops of knowledge from the wine glass

Wine Festival visitors can test all their senses and wine knowledge at the VinAgora Interactive Wine Space.

Wine Festival visitors can test all their senses and wine knowledge at the VinAgora Interactive Wine Space. All you need is a phone and a little wine knowledge to play the game, which starts after scanning the QR code.

What is a splash? And what is a "tőtike"? What can the colour of the wine in the glass tell us? As well as developing their wine culture in a playful way, participants will also receive a small gift in at the VinAgora Interactive Wine Space tent, which will showcase the Wine Festival's professional activities.

So it's worth visiting stand 64 in the CSikós courtyard to show off your wine knowledge, because now you'll have to complete even more exciting stages to find out whether you've earned the title of "novice wine taster", "advanced wine consumer" or "wine enthusiast". What is it and what is it for? Take a look at the old wine-making tools on display in the tent, then try to guess what they are called and what they were used for.

Blank map: in this exercise, players can get their hands on the wine regions of their country. Their task is to place all 22 of them on the interactive blind map. When they show the game master, he will reveal the password for the next step.

Colour recognition: what does the colour of wine tell you? If we can determine the exact appearance, we can learn a lot about the wine we pour into our glass. In this station, you have to identify the colour of 9 wine samples within the white, rosé and red wine categories.

Scent palate: The referee will show you three scent samples and then you have to tell us which scent is hidden in the vial using the given options.

Wine profile: using the same judging system as the VinAgora International Wine Competition, a judging sheet will be created for festival guests to score one of this year's winning wines. At the end of the evaluation, novice wine judges can compare their score with that of the wine competition jury and find out how good they are at judging wine.

Varietal identification: Which red wine variety, popular in our country too, is said to have notes of spicy paprika or green paprika? Let's try it: guess the grape variety!

This year, VinAgora Wine Space will have even more new professional programme elements. Beside the interactive knowledge test a themed wine tasting session will be held by the Budapest Wine Festival's exhibiting winemakers. Interesting and exciting topics about a particular wine region and its producers will be explored in informal and relaxed discussions.
