The VinAgora International Wine Competition, Hungary’s most prestigious wine contest, proudly carries the motto “The Wine Compass of Central Europe.”
The VinAgora Discoveries area offers a platform for wineries that do not have their own booth at the event but whose wines achieved outstanding results in the competition. Three names that may still sound unfamiliar to the general public, yet represent exciting wineries well worth discovering, will be featured. At Stand 40, visitors will have the opportunity to meet these hidden gems in person, highlighted by the VinAgora competition from among the field.
Dóka Éva Winery
Our Winery in Zalaszentgrót is called „Distillery”. It is not a usual name, especially not for a quality winery. But that is how it happened, the Szeszgyár was there first, and we simply moved in. Everything we have created and built within these walls serves a single purpose: to understand and, each year, to create the wine of Zala, which is at least as diverse as the wine region itself. You could also say that many kinds of beauties are made here, from international favourites to unique specialities that can only be found with us, such as the playful Nektár or the bohemian Pátria.

Sike Balázs Winery
We are a young, first-generation winery located on the western side of Badacsony, in the village of Badacsonytördemic. It was here during my childhood that I developed a passion for Badacsony, inspired by its rocks, forests, vineyards, history, vineyard architecture, and exceptional beauty.
The flavors of my wines bring together the smokiness and saltiness of the extinct volcano with the greatness of our local grape varieties. As an innovative and creative winemaker, I create my wines without being bound by generational traditions or predetermined characteristics, always striving for the most expressive character in each category. This includes both fresh Sauvignon Blanc from the SKIZO by Sike Balázs series and low-intervention terroir wines from the finest slopes of the mountain.
