A good wine can be memorable on its own, but the experience becomes even more complete when it is paired with the right food. This year’s food selection at the Budapest Wine Festival is a perfect match for the more than 1,000 wines on offer. Visitors can enjoy everything from premium ingredients and international cuisines to popular street food favourites.
One of the World’s Finest Hams at the Wine Festival
Bocca was a great success at last year’s festival, and this year it returns with something truly special. They will bring a premium ham that experts consider one of the finest in the world. It will be hand-sliced on site, so visitors can enjoy it at its freshest. Paired with the recommended wines, it offers a real journey of flavours for anyone looking for a special food and wine experience.
The Middle East on Your Plate
This year, Mozata will take part in the festival for the first time. In just a few years, it has become one of Budapest’s most popular Lebanese restaurants. This family-run restaurant welcomes guests with authentic Middle Eastern dishes, warm hospitality and a modern approach.
Mozata pays special attention to preparing traditional Lebanese recipes to the highest possible standard. Their falafel, hummus and other classic dishes have become favourites not only with Budapest diners, but also with many Lebanese guests. At the Wine Festival, these authentic flavours will be served alongside Hungarian and international wines.
Another well-known representative of Middle Eastern cuisine, Byblos, will also join the festival this year. Lebanese cuisine, with its rich spices, fresh ingredients and dishes made for sharing, is a great match for enjoying wine with friends.
A Glass of Dolce Vita
The Italian way of life will once again be represented by Pomo d’Oro, with traditional Italian dishes and refined flavours. Culinaris will offer food lovers a carefully selected range of delicacies, premium ingredients and gourmet specialities.
Few things go better together than fresh oysters and a glass of excellent sparkling wine. At the Osztrigasommelier stand, visitors can enjoy this classic combination and choose their favourite sparkling wine from the festival’s selection to accompany the oysters.
From Street Food to Desserts
Popular premium street food favourites will also return this year. Pizza Me will serve crispy Italian pizzas, Farm Ételműhely will offer dishes made with quality Hungarian ingredients, and Los Monos will add Mexican flavours to the selection.
Nemo Fish & Chips & Seafood Truck will welcome seafood lovers, while Smokey Monkies will serve smoky barbecue specialities. Csevapivo will bring the flavours of the Balkans to Buda Castle.
Cheese lovers can enjoy the delicious melted Alpine cheeses at Raclette by Lili. SZEGA Market will offer premium meat and delicatessen products, while FeteKert will add fresh fruit and light treats to the selection.
Those with a sweet tooth will also have plenty to choose from. The handmade desserts of Bolka Desszert Butik are a perfect way to finish a long day of wine tasting. They also pair wonderfully with a naturally sweet wine or a glass of Tokaji Aszú.
And finally, Dallmayr’s premium coffees will provide the energy needed for one last toast at the end of the day.
