VinAgora New Talents: treasures at the Wine Festival

You can find some rare treasures at the New Talents stand located in Hunyadi Court.

The wine compass of Central Europe – reads the slogan of VinAgora International Wine Competition, Hungary's most prestigious wine contest. Since VinAgora also stands for guaranteed quality, you can find some rare treasures at the New Talents stand (No. 50) located in Hunyadi Court.

VinAgora New Talents focuses on wine makers who don’t have their own stand at the festival, but having performed very well at the competition, we wanted visitors to have a chance to meet them. These are typically lesser known, but very inspiring wineries worth getting to know.

Garai Winery (Szekszárd wine region)

Garai Pince is a charming boutique winery run by the Garai family, nestled on 3 hectares on the Nyéki Hill in the picturesque Szekszárd wine district. We specialize in crafting full-bodied, big, bold reds from Szekszárd's flagship varieties and Cabernet sauvignon, Cabernet franc, however, the younger generation experiments with aromatic whites as well. Our Täuninger series showcases the most beautiful expressions of red varieties cultivated in loess-rich soils. Our modern Sárköz-style winery maintains the region's authentic atmosphere while offering a down-to-earth, welcoming vibe. At Garai Winery, we take pride in our focus on exceptional hospitality, ensuring each visit is a memorable experience with our family.

Palik Winery (Mátra wine region)

The Palik Winery is located in the Mátra wine region, particulary in the village of Karácsond. The winery was founded in 2018 and currently farms 6 hectares. Our main varieties are Irsai Olivér, Sauvignon Blanc, Rheinriesling and Blaufränkisch.

Strázsahegyi Wine House (Kiskunság wine region)

The history of Strázsahegyi Wine House started in 2019, when we founded Wine and Society Ltd. with two sociologists, Balázs Mahler and Tamás Domokos. We are driven by a strong desire to create value, both in terms of viticulture and winemaking. We make both reductive and oxidative wines, respecting tradition, but we also love innovation and are courageous in our use of new technological achievements.

Tokaj-Portius (Tokaj-Hegyalja wine region)

I am jr. Richard Hörcsik, a first generation wine producerI did not inherit vineyards, cellars or professional experience - I had to learn and build everything from scratch. The love of grapes and wine - that's the heritage of my ancestors. And the passion which I live with my everyday life of winemaking and viticulture is instinctive. In the making of my wines, I aim to emphasise the individuality of the vineyards, the growing locations, and to recognise and consciously use the potential of the vintage.
